When I first heard the Midnight Love album a few months ago this song caught my attention so much I kept it on repeat for at least an hour...

motownlover

i was sending my gf a link of marvin gaye and she said what a terrible singer.
and i was like how can you say that , while what ever she listens to are never great vocalist lol

anyway his last album doenst appeal to me at all.

This song sounds so much like, EW&F could have done it. Those horns, and the Maurice White, styled vocals. Marvin, must have been listening to allot of different things, during the making of this album.

From what David Ritz said, he definitely was, from the R&B to new wave to funk to reggae, yep he was listening to all of it. nod lol

From what David Ritz said, he definitely was, from the R&B to new wave to funk to reggae, yep he was listening to all of it. nod lol

According to what I read he was listening to Brian Eno and 'em. I don't know if he's considered New Wave-ish but I wouldn't have been surprised if he was listening to it since it was probably everywhere in Europe anyways.
