Rumor has it that Janet will be performing "Nothing" on the American Idol Finale tomorrow night.

Perhaps they'll save her until the end right before the results are announced like they did with George Michael, Prince and Rod Stewart in season's past?

It could give some much needed exposure to the song (which has stalled at #15 on the Urban AC chart) and could also be a great opportunity for her to show off her new look (which is actually an old look but I digress.)

Isn't "Nothing" considered pretty much dead already? Besides, the WDIGMT box office era is over until time for the DVD release. I mean, why bother?

I would draw attention to something else, that is if this rumor turns out to be true

There's no reason not to perform on such a huge show. She needs more high-profile performances to make people remember why they liked her in the first place, something she didn't really have much of post-SuperBowl. Plus, this is excellent promotion for any tour she undertakes in the future.

My apologies if I didn't make my point clear. I'm all for the opportunity, there's few bigger national televised showcases than AI. My contention is with the song selection (if its true) that's all. I don't think "Nothing" will remind the masses of why they fell in love with her in the first place. I don't think it would win over any of the young audience that tune in either. So, I hope the rumor is true. I would just like for her to get the most out of such a huge viewing audience and I don't think "Nothing" would do that for her. If she was known equally for her ballads as much as her dance hits than sure. Go right ahead. But I would dare to bet that most people when they hear Janet's name they think of her dance hits versus her ballads. I'm not knocking her ballads, I love them too, just sayin....
