Seems to be opening for Prince on Werchter Boutique.



That's good news to me, although I never paid that much of attention to this artist. Should I, before seeing him live?

Should definately pay some attention before seeing him live! He's had three solo albums to date (the latest 'Compass' just came out this week) although I believe he put out material before that in collaboration with others.

This latest album is closer in sound to the first (Multiply). Grounded in classic funk and soul but mixed up with a healthy dose of wierdness. A bit like, well Prince actually! Should make him a good fit to support!

The second album (Jim) was much more conventional, still good but just a bit too normal almost like he was chasing the Duffy money or something like that!

I've not seen him live but from the clips I've seen of him touring the first album it was just him and a big synth/box of tricks where he would use various delays, backwards effects and stuff while singing on top, it looked really cool! I believe when touring the second album he switched to a band in line with the more conventional feel of the album. Hopefully he'll do a mix of the two as I think that could be something special!

Most excellent. Prince has good taste if he had anything to do with booking him.
