Today it's been 30 years since his suicide. Ian Curtis was singer of the band Joy Division. More than that, he was such an amazing poet. His lyrics are more like a poetry, full of pain, dark thoughts, despair..and tell me, who hasn't heard JD's album "Unknown Pleasures"? It's a brilliant album.

^^^ That's actually the only JD song that I've never liked, glad it's not on the albums.

A tragic and confusing end, still surprising that he was only 22 or something.

i lived in the house next door [as a kid] to where he hung himself, he was a lovely guy who would always say hi as I went to school in the morning. RIP.

Joy Division's music is timeless. "Unknown Pleasures" and "Closer" are both masterpieces. I have never been a big New Order fan in general, although I love some of their stuff. It was Ian Curtis who made Joy Division so compelling and real and exciting.
