I know this forum doesn't really care about hip-hop mostly, but I love me some Bay Area Hip Hop from the early to mid 90's. They had some of the coolest rappers and the best beats (better than the hip hop made miles below in LA, IMO.)

Well, that's before I knew No Limit used to resides from the West Side. So that's how he got all those connects from his former westcoast comrades to join forces with the south.

What's odd is that most people here in the South were digging music from the Bay Area harder than we did our own or even from New York.

Hell check my brother's car from back then, mostly Bay Area/West Side artists.

Like I stated earlier, I actually though these cats were from the south. When I'd visit my cousins in Louisiana, He'd have E-40, B-Legit, Too $hort, C-Bo, Rappin 4 Tay, Celly Cel so I just assumed these cats were from the south.

The Bay Area's hip hop scene is pretty peculiar. It's not all the same but it has connections to one another

You have guys like Keak Da Sneak, E 40, Erk Tha Jerk, Mob Figaz, Mistah FAB, The Diligentz, The Jacka, Andre Nickatina, The Pack, Clyde Carson...the list goes on. We have the hip hop club sound, the backpacker/berkeley/sf sound...real diverse

Not tryin' to say if was P, but I think he was the first with that West / South connect. And I noticed their styles were very similar. From some slang, to how wet ride cars and everything.

Yeah Master P was doing his thing in California around 1990 I believe or was it 1989, I'm not too sure, but they were doing the independent route for so long. They didn't return to New Orleans until 1995 or 1996, I forget.
