Janet's New Management?

If you were apart of Janet's new management team, what would you advise her?

I ask this question due to the rumors of her having a new management team behind her now. If this is true, seems like they're off to a pretty good start with their new client.

What say you? Are they making the right moves or is there more that could be done? confused Ultimately the artist is in control (no pun intended) but we all know that the right vision and direction for an artist could also make a difference in their career as well.

I think they are definately on the right track. She's shooting the new film now, and then there's the Essence fest. next month. The book may been soon after. I think she should keep fielding more film offers (with different, more prolific directors). With all this momentum from American Idol, she should maybe work the talk show circuit, shoot a few magazine covers and possibly tour...

Hey SEANMAN, when would you aim to release some new music? I hope she finds new inspiration and direction for new music during this break and come back on FIRE! I think everything after DJ reflects her searching. Hell, for her not to write at all on Discipline says alot. Not saying that there wasn't some good stuff that came after DJ, because there were a few gems in there. I'm grateful for the break, I think its wise and best for now.

I think sometime next year will be good for her to release a full new CD. I think maybe she should look into doing a few soundtrack songs here and there until then. I think the major reason she didn't write for Discipline was that it was such a rushed project. Def Jam wanted her to put out a CD like yesterday, and she didn't have time to go through her usual routine of writing about her experience, etc. I do think this break will reinvigorate her creative side.

So LA Reid's the culprit behind that huh? I remember thinking, what's the rush. Do you happen to know who her new management is? Who would you like to see produce her next record?

I'm not sure who her new management is, but they're doing a great job. I would first and foremost love to see her collaborate with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis again, and I'd love for her to work with some top-notch producers from the UK too. I LOVE her collaboartions with Swedish producers BAG and Arnthor (All Nite/SLOLove) and Cathy Dennis (Island Life). I'd like to see her work with Massive Attack or Daft Punk as well.

I've been wondering what the hell happened to BAG and Arnthor. I thought their stuff with her were great. (I loved SloLove) Have they produced anything hot since their stuff for Damita Jo? As far as JJ&TL are concerned, they're are like staples for her. I don't think they'll produce anything stale or outdated for her like alot people tend to think. Hopefully by now, after exploring with several different producers (the ones that made the cut and didn't) she'll feel better about working with them again. I would love to hear some new funk from them! (Jackson/Harris/Lewis).

I agree. I'm not sure what else they've done as of late, but I do love that song they did for Samantha Mumba called "Gotta Tell You."

Just YouTubed Samantha. She reminds me a little of that chick from Saved By The Bell, Lark Voorhies (sp?) I'm going to look up BAG and Atnthor and see what else I find. Thanks for sharing.
