This is the reason why I like Newsome more than - for example - Lady Gaga. Compare the above lyric with the one below and tell me Newsome hasn't made a valid point in the interview.

Don't get me wrong - pure pop is fine, and it does not have to have any depth to be enjoyable - I'm on a Prince site after all - but the suggestions in this thread that Newsome isn't as good as Gaga are just plain silly. She's just genuinely different that's all.

I wouldn't even call Newsom an Indie artist. After all I've heard one of her songs used for some tacky mobile phone commercial at cinemas for about 2 years straight. Made me fucking hate her voice.
