RICHEST RAPPERS OF ALL-TIME (FORBES 2009)

1. Master P - $661 Million

damn

Damn! LOL And you know most of the money came from outside the rap game lol

Real talk, MP Tha Don is one of my idols. Look at what this brother did in so little time. That's why the IRS men came down on him, didn't want a young brother to succeed and make all that cash. Two years of business classes at a community college and hustler minds from the street get you 661 million.

No, not like that. lol When you accomplish shit in a PROFITABLE LEGAL business, the last thing I would expect someone to do is try to get $10 million off drugs or some shit. lol

A lot of it comes from record sales. You gotta release he was getting 85% of the record sales (un freakin heard of.) Most artist get 5% of their shares back while the label profits the others. And than, he was getting that from his artist on No Limit too. And from 95-2000 just about every album went gold or platinum (you do the math.)

What I can't believe is how basically everyone (beside Snoop Dogg) that was a former No Limit artist hate Master P. No offense, but most of them were bums of the street. P gave them a record deal and gold or platinum records.

Most of them complain that they weren't making money. Naw,y'all were making money just not Master P money. They didn't realize P wasn't just rappin. He was making his money off of other deals, weather it be in films, TV, book deals, a sports agent, playing pro sports, and being the owner of his own company and many others. SOme of these rapper no one even knows ere millionaires man, but of course it don't compare to someone making 661 million.

I think a lot of them are just mad their careers flopped, but at the same time, P was at fault too

If you think about it, No Limit signed alot of marginal or no talent acts who barely had a consistent album. How many No Limit acts aside from P and his brothers made it to a third album, much less a second one. It was a smart move for him to concentrate on other venues

I don't know, he marketed everyone the same. He market the Gambino Family (lol) just like he did Mystikal. They was in every NL release in the cover. The public knew who hey wanna hear, cause you already heard them on the ten previous NL artist albums, lol.

Some never got to that third album cause either they sucked (Prime Suspects, Full Blooded, Lil Soldiers, lol) or they decided to leave on their own (Mystikal, Fiend, Kane and Abel, Mr. Serv-On, ect.)

PS. No what's funny, you're right about P and his brothers, that third album only came for two other artist not named Miller Snoop and Mia X.

I guess in Master P.'s case, blood runs thicker than water. He was quicker to release the fourth albums by Silkk and C Murder than he was the rest of No Limit and I know Silkk probably has stock in the company, C would've too if he hadn't further got involved in crime.

The thing I heard is that cats were mad at his success more than anything when he went back home, not at him the person.

Most dudes were probably like "I remember that lil nicca sellin CD and Tapes out his car back in 91 and he left the Bay and blew up." That's what I get from dudes like Yukmouth.

Some in No Limit were upset that he left for New Orleans (his best friend King George and others like Calli G and Lil Ric.) Big Ed is the only one from Richmond that moved down south. He still tight with oo Short, Spice 1, 40, B-Legit, JT, Rappin 4-Tay, EA-Ski, Dre Dog ect.

That's the sentiment but many felt he forgot about the Bay

It's not jealousy though...or I don't think it is. These dudes are really smart businessmen. Some push units without doing tours lol

After the move to New Orleans, he signed many Bay Area artist. Steady Mobb'n, Sons of Funk, Lil Italy and Snoop fron LBC.
