JANET: THE MOVIE I'm surprised no one has ever done at least a TV biopic on Janet, even if it is based on that unauthorized Janet biography "Out of the Madness." I think it's high time. Anyone else? Who do you think could play her?

Janet's life is boring as fuck.
I don't think it's even worth a TV movie. Sorry.

I don't think it's even worth a TV movie. Sorry. If you consider the life of a woman who grew up rich, in a family of celebrated singers, who started acting from a child into her teen years, got married when she was still barely legal (and against her family's wishes), released her first two albums before she could legally drink, and went on to have her own successful career as a celebrated pop icon, who has constantly lived with rumors of is she pregnant?, does she have a kid or not?, how much plastic surgery has she had done?, etc, and who led a massive (albeit unnecessary) uproar over the .5 second baring of her right breast boring, then you must lead the exciting life of an international spy or something. I'd vote for Ciara just to see her do the dance moves!
But otherwise Janet movie = YAWN!

This woman's life has had major drama, some of it suitable for soap opera-dom. Two druggie ex-husbands where the marriages ended in divorce: one a quickie marriage that happened against her family's wishes when she was still a teen, the other a secret marriage lasting nearly a decade, the alleged daughter being taken care of by a family member, the battles with weight and depression, the rumors of lesbianism, the success, the highs and lows, the SB scandal, the famous family known for its eccentricities...you must live one helluva life if you think all that is a snoozefest. This again? I swear this was just a topic two months ago or so.
I don't think it's quite time for a real Janet bio pic, yet. Maybe when she's 50, and has done a bit more acting, and stretches herself a bit more in that regard. I think on a day to day basis, she lives a relatively quiet life. There are key moments we'd like to see played out though. Marrying Debarge. Control era. Firing Joe Jackson. Marrying Rene. Dealing with abuse. Superbowl, and backlash. Her brother's death. The follow up to Ryan Seacrest finding her childhood friend (she did appear in later bio stories about Janet).

Oh please. Her marriages didn't ignite any major drama and who cares about some random bs story about a "secret daughter." In the eyes of the public, Janet's never been viewed as a tragic figure who lost grip on reality. Her biggest achille's heel to date is the titty-slip. I mean so what? That's not a severe low. Comeback stories only come when there's a personal fall. There was never anything interesting or newsworthy about her. No one would ever watch it. There's no triumph over failure tagline. There's not going to be a bio-pic unless Janet plays herself she won't allow for such fuckery to happen. It would have revolve around her relationships and that won't happen. So its all wishful thinking.

[Edited 5/5/10 13:11pm] I have nothing to be bitter about. I'm being realistic. If you actually analyze what I'm saying it can be viewed as a genuine compliment. Drama creates interest. Drama sells. Drama pulls in headlines and fills the gossip columns. Janet hasn't lived that life. I'm sorry if you want it that way but it isn't the route which was taken. What is the titty gonna be the climax? I'm a fan, your a fan, a multitude of prince.orgers are fans but in the eyes of the general public, her eminence was never captivating. She's never been a paparazzi target, she's never had a larger than life persona...Extremely meager in comparison to not only her superstar brother but many big names of the past and present. Give her a Behind The Music special but she doesn't need a biopic. No one besides her obsessive stans would be drawn to it.
