Kool & The Gang - "Summer Madness" I realize this one's been discussed to death on here, but it's still preferable to the "which blue-eyed soul song is the best?" (which is also done to death  ). It's been on my mind, since it's summer and we're supposed to get snow here tomorrow night(!).

The horn section kills @ 5:30 . Some useless trivia. The "Live" version wasn't on the original LP release of Kool Jazz (not until the CD release). It did end up on the original LP release of Love & Understanding. A version of that arrangement... ...from 2000. Amazing song, and perhaps the most underrated instrumental track ever...
at least the song got a mini-revival in 2002 with GTA: Vice City I love this song, it's a personal mantra of mine... I don't like the long version, though   | |
