Waiting for mine to be delivered by next week. Have been trying to get "Loveshine" for years now, and the only version I had found was an import, extremely rare, and was selling for nearly $200. Now, I'll be getting this one AND "Candy", AND... they're both digitally remastered - for only $18! This is one "Two-For" that is absolutely worth it!

While I was at it, I also ordered Phyllis Hyman's "Goddness of Love" CD that's been unavailable for years also... until now. Looks like slowly they're starting to bring the REAL shit out.

...which is the case with these two CD's (...unless you're willing to pay nearly $200 a piece for the Import... IF you can still find them available somewhere). Then to top it off, this 2fer has been REMASTERED! excited

In case those who are interested cool

The amazon-copies have indeed already gone-up in price. Best advise if you're still into seperate album-cd's, is to buy the reissues right after the release-date,
because then, the price is still affordable. Cd-Japan usually sells them for a reasonable price.
The CFS-cd's were available there for 16 $, but unfortunately some are already out-of-print : http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/...der=score.
Imo, 16 $ is nothing compared to the value they will become once they're out-of-print. Best 2nd place to try for those imports is on ebay.
Sometimes the bids are high, but other times you also might be lucky to find it for less. It requires patience though lol : http://cgi.ebay.com/CON-F..._730wt_941

It's Here! It's Here! excited ...finally!, lol.

Thank you Mr. UPS Man! And I haven't even put it on yet (...gotta make sure the mood is set on OPTIMUM before I put this joint on and take that walk down memory lane). But I must say, for what it's worth, I'm very impressed with the packaging.

I can feel where FunkPill is coming from in many ways, I'm usually not too crazy about 2fer's either because they've usually used some third generation COPY as the master for the project, and the artwork on the cover usually bears no resemblance to the originals (...which is a big deal for me, because if it doesn't LOOK the same, I have a hard time HEARING it as the same, lol). But with THIS 2fer, aside from the fact that both albums were remastered, the liner notes are ample and concise, paying respect to each of the albums with full song credits, album cover, even pics of the original LP labels. There's also a nice narrative by Ralph Tee that details the backgrounds of these two albums.

I'm gonna hit that PLAY button later this evening. Some of my favorite songs here I haven't heard in over 30 years (...despite the fact that some of these tunes never left my head). This is gonna be a great ride, I might even shed a tear, lol.

I can remember buying the Candy album the summer of 79.
I forgot how good Main Slice was because of all the other
tracks i dug. This is one of those albums you can listen
to from beginning to end.

That's the thing: Back in the day, you listened to entire albums from beginning to end. Then, through the years, as these great albums went "out of print" and became unavailable, the radio reduced each of these great albums down to ONE "hit", leaving all those other great songs on the album to be forgotten. Though while I have many of these classic albums on vinyl, I haven't owned a turntable to play them on in over 20 years! boxed So all this stuff coming out as Import CD's are like rays of sunshine to my day, lol. And with all our technological advances, sounding way better than they did even back in the day.

And then, so many of these great albums were never even transferred to CD in the first place, until in recent years. I think now, countries like Japan, Germany, and Canada see the value of these records and are snatching up the rights to them just as soon as they become available, then are turning around, remastering them, and re-releasing them back to us as "Imports", lol. I'm glad someone has seen the value of all this Classic Funk.

Still, there are many other titles that have yet to be released on CD. I hope they're on the way!
