I never liked "Unplugged" from day one. Stripping all the instruments down to just someone sitting on a stool playing an accoustical guitar reminds me of "Hee Haw". I don't like anything stripped down except men.

I thought it died a death back in the 90s.....pretty seminal for my generation what with the AIC, Nirvana (didn't think they crossed over well), Stone Temple Pilots, Led Zep, Springsteen, Mariah Carey(she was a proper salt back then wink ), Roxette, Neil Young, Soul Asylum, Hole, .....I think it was Green Day who put in an abysmal performance clonking barre chords throughout their set.

Seeing this as a 14 year old was a true moment of epiphany:

spit Oh stop it! You going to kill this thread too early. lol

But seriously, damn Eric Clapton for starting the Unplugged mess since day 1. Yes, it was great idea for him to show off. But MTV Unplugged has been nothing but an excuse for all artists to trying to get credibility. Good freaking grief, THAT show feature KISS playing their classics hits without electric guitars was just plain wrong! disbelief
