Those photos are timeless. That is some of the best commercial photography period, regardless of time and space. Fine art even. Everyone involved in shoot did a great job, the lighting, the make up,the wardrobe, the photographer. Proof that this lady still has an ability to pull this stuff off and her image is not just an accident or a goof but a calculated effort that the young ones still have a lot to learn from. I pretty much can't *stand* Madonna for all of her phoniness over the years, her self-important posing, her pretentious "accent", and her cringe-worthy acting...
but I gotta admit, these pics are awesome. Who knew a 50 year old woman could look so good? Some people tell me I've got great legs...

underneath all those tons of make up there's a hideous botoxed hag who's face is deformed because of plastic surgery [Edited 5/4/10 7:57am] currently Madonna reminds me of: Memorable quotes from the movie Sunset Blvd. Joe Gillis: Norma, you're a woman of 50, now grow up. There's nothing tragic about being 50, not unless you try to be 25. Norma Desmond: (a.k.a. madonna) [to cameras] And I promise you I'll never desert you again [five words deleted] we'll make another picture and another picture. You see, this is my life! It always will be! Nothing else! Just me, the cameras, and those wonderful people out there in the dark!... All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up. Is ageing Madonna just too fit for her own good? By EIMEAR O'HAGAN Last updated at 01:22 Cheek to cheek: Madonna's indented cheeks and gaunt appearance have been particularly noticeable in recent months Dr Alex Karidis is a plastic surgeon based at the St John and St Elizabeth Hospital, London. He says: Madonna has a chronically low percentage of body fat due to her obsession with exercise and her macrobiotic diet. It's clear from photographs that there isn't an ounce of spare fat on her. As a result, her cheekbones protrude and this is exacerbated by natural ageing which causes us to lose fat in certain areas - our faces in particular. Madonna's indented cheeks and gaunt appearance are classic signs of this process. However, because she is so lean the impact is much more pronounced. In normal circumstances, surgeons could reverse this process by taking fat from elsewhere on the body and injecting it into the cheeks, but as she doesn't have fat stores elsewhere, this wouldn't be possible. Instead, I would suggest injecting a synthetic man-made filler to give her face a fuller appearance. C'mon, once you hit 50, its always a matter of image rather than reality. Especially an entertainer. lol But yeah, I was going to ask what type of camera they used. It kinda looks digital but the image quality still looks kinda filmish. So I'm sure they worked just as hard on the photoshop as they did on set. But the results are spectacular non the less. Can any photo buffs here tell if they think this was taken with a digital camera or traditional film? [Edited 5/4/10 9:31am]

Madonna Talks 'W.E.' Film, Gets Glamorous In Interview
In the May issue of Interview magazine, Madonna reveals details of her upcoming film 'W.E.,' somewhat fitting, considering she was speaking with director Gus Van Sant. The film - co-written by Madonna (who will also direct) and 'Truth or Dare' director Alex Keshishian - is set to begin photography this summer and flashes back and forth between pre-World War II England and New York in 1998. Though the plot remains a tightly guarded secret, Madonna made it clear that early reports on the film had at least one key aspect wrong. 'Yeah, [it's] the movie everyone thinks I'm making that's supposed to be a musical about the duke and duchess of Windsor. I don't know why that got in the newspapers,' she tells Van Sant. 'The duke and duchess of Windsor are in the movie, but it's not going to be about them. It's really about this other woman's journey, and the duchess is kind of her spiritual guide....I use the Sotheby's auction in 1998 of the duke and duchess of Windsor's estate as a device to flash backward from.' Madonna freely admits that the concept behind 'W.E.' is 'fantastic and complicated,' involving not only the lives of the duke and duchess of Windsor, but 'a girl who has this obsession and is going to the auctions.' It's a complicated piece and very much a labor of love. 'I've been writing it for the last two and a half years, to tell you the truth. It's been kind of an obsession of mine,' she said. 'I started writing it when I finished filming [2008 directorial debut] 'Filth and Wisdom.' It was actually an idea I had before that, but I made 'Filth and Wisdom' because I realized that I didn't really have a right to make a bigger film until I made a smaller film - and learned how to make a film.' In the issue - which hits newsstands in New York and Los Angeles on Tuesday and goes nationwide May 11 - Madonna also admits that working on the film has shifted her focus away from her other career. 'I don't have a record deal right now with anybody. I don't know how I'm going to get my music out the next time I make a record,' she said. 'I'm going to have to reinvent the wheel. I haven't really been focused as much as I should be on the music part of my career, because this movie has just consumed every inch of me. Between that and my four children, I don't have the time or the energy for anything else.' 'For example, I do appreciate that lots of people worked long and hard putting together things like the DVD of the Sticky & Sweet Tour that we just released, and I have seen the finished product, but I have got no idea how people are going to find out about it or how it's going to be sold.' 'They'll find it,' Van Sant said. 'Hopefully,' Madonna joked. 'I think I have a fan club - well, that's what they say.' From MTV.com LOVE ♪♫♪♫ ♣¤═══¤۩۞۩ஜ۩ஜ۩۞۩¤═══¤♣

Cool pics.
Madonna does Madonna before one of the current divas of the moment beats her to the punch. As for the other photo. I'm curious as to why she'd go out in public looking like shit then do photo shoots that obviously looked photoshopped. I mean, it's Madonna. It's not like she has to run to the corner store for milk. If you're going out in public dip your face in a tub of makeup or whatever...
