I wholly agree. No one else could ever come up with chords and melodies as complicated, beautiful, driven, yet still as catchy as huck. He remains #1 on my list of the greatest artist of all time. Yeah, it's a little weird that my gap between Innervisions and Songs in the Key of Life is so broad, but that's just to give the other little artists a push. wink

It's such an amazing album, isn't it? This album helps me get through life. It's really a musical journey through the ups and downs of life.Stevie really outdid himself with this album.

2004 lol the year I got hooked on the "soul soprano trinity"(a title made up by some orger to describe those 3 ladies).

And I agree, Steveland gave his heart and mind through song to those ladies(esp his ex-wife).

I have the two Syreeta albums and think most of the songs are great.

Did Stevie actually pen many of the songs on Mimmie's and Deniece's albums too?

Deniece came from his band. And he wrote couple of songs from Perfect Angel(including the title song) and played keys in the whole album along with his Wonderlove band and other session musicans.

He also wrote a song in her last studio album Minnie(Best Of Friends, or something, the title escapes me at the moment).

while I do like all of those records and many of them have even been important key albums in my muscial journey, probably only SITKOL would make it into my all time Top 20

besides, there is not enough HipHop included for a Dancelot chart smile

so where's your list?

You know there are some albums that I know are of finer quality and even still make it back into regular rotation.

But I was listening to Isaac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul today and was thinking "this would have never made my top 20 list last week" ykno??

I think probably because I rate things according to ever-altering criteria
