Do you ever return to mixtapes you made because

it's like a playlist that reminds you of whatever season/time of year that followed?

I have a mixtape that I made in April or May of 2002 and I never meant it to be a "Summer" mixtape, but with the result of the memories I have attached to it, mostly the weather... I tend to be reminded of it and want to break it out.

Yes, i actually used to do that when Cassettes were still the "thing" you carried, and sometimes with some cds that i made cdrs of. Almost never with the ipod or digital playlists, not the same feel. But to your point it totally used to take me back, like i was telling someone the other day, about the a-ha shows coming this week in nyc, i told them it was weird but i can remember 25 years ago buying the first album on tape, i can remember the plastic bag, the wait for the bus to go home.....Music has lost that feel now to others.

To be honest I haven't lost that feeling man.

I continue to just name my mixes (that fit on a cd-r but they are on the ipod too) by the time of year, and I return to them all at some point. This thread was inspired by my favorite one.

I still vividly remember a lot of exciting music purchases!

I still have the feeling, im saying that music to the masses now, doesnt have the effect anymore. It used to be the background of your life, not now, still to us it is, put the feeling wasnt passed on to the next generations

yeah, Cin..totally.

BITD, we had enough product coming in weekly to make a SOLID 90+ min tape per week.

Listening to the mixes now is like a time machine. Takes me back to the actual week & month (and to what was going on in my life) that the tracks were released.

Their stories gonna be real wack. "I remember this one time, I was sittin in front of the computer"... although with the way technology is moving, maybe that will become a quaint detail too.. like "ain't that some funny shit? Now we just draw swirls in the air to pull up some information"

I play my old radio shows. They were my modern day mix tapes. I do have about 7 or 8 other mixes I've done since then.
