it's an ok track, i'd say a JJ&TL production, very JJ Rythm Nation. Nothing groundbreaking, and with some familiar tricks, but i'd say also more inspired than some of the invincible cuts. I'm kinda glad he's back 2 the intro - jerky beat part - slower than u xpect chorus - break - ad libs - dance break kinda song, if u know what i mean.
He's certainly not xploring new grounds here, but back at what he did best Dangerous-style, with a chorus that sticks. As 4 the lyrics...well...get over it Mike .
Voice still sounds great, further xploring in the lower ranges at some points.
Some will b happy (and some less happy) 2 hear he's back at the hoo-hoo's and hee-hee's.

While the song's not terrible, I just think it reinforces the notion that MJ hasn't progressed much beyond the new-jack swing stylized music of Dangerous (ie: fast verses, melodic chorus, industrialized beats in the background). The song just seems to cement the idea that MJ the innovater is gone gone gone...

BTW, the song's theme is past stale too. It was fresh back in '87 with Leave Me Alone, but by 2003, I've grown tired of Mike bitchin about the press...

still love 1979-1991 Mike (and HIStory wasn't all that bad either)

I still think MJ is very unfairly treated with all this expectation of a new Off The Wall EVERY time. It pisses me RIGHT off when people disregard EVERYTHING he's done since Thriller, and slightly older ones dismiss everything since Bad. If you don't like it then you don't like it, but the citicism about his "dated" sound is about as old as the nose jokes.
