This quartet female singing group only had one hit, but it was a huge hit. This song reconfirms to me how great the 70's were from a musicial stanpoint. This was one of those midtempo laid-back kind of song with a slinky slow groove to it.This is from High Inergy's debut album on Motown Records called Turnin' On. The R&B radio stations were very receptive to this song in 1977. Great track.

In 1976,this song was originally recorded by Millie Jackson,but her version didn't do that well on the charts.Then,a year later,High Inergy recorded a version that went straight to the top of the R&B charts.It's a sultry,mildly suggestive song that starts off as a ballad then turns into a midtempo groove with frequent pauses.

"Each and every time we touch,ooh ooh this feeling's
too much...take me to that special place,you've gone too far to leave me,so stay..."

The woman is telling her man that he must not tease her,that he must GO ALL THE WAY and finish what he started.The album version is longer and much better than the single 45 version.It contains an additional verse,and many more ad libs at the end ("cause I'm ready,ready,ready,I'm ready...oh please baby,don't stop now!").
