"Yesterday" is a bit too Rihanna for me.

I like the other two a lot. (I didn't listen to or have interest in the Trey Nosongz collaboration.) "Hands Tied" had some classic Toni Braxton in it, with a touch of the new. It was a good mix of what we love from her.

What brought her dull ass out of retirement? Hell, I guess she sees the music scene is still just as dull as it was when she left so she still can make some money. lol

Who says she was in retirement?

    * 1993: Toni Braxton
    * 1996: Secrets
    * 2000: The Heat
    * 2002: More Than a Woman
    * 2005: Libra
    * 2010: Pulse

Seems rather consistent to me, not to mention her stint on Broadway in there. Aguilera goes 4 years in between albums, and no one says she's retired and coming back.

I like her. She was a relief from the nonsense in the business.

I loved 'Another Sad Love Song', 'Breathe Again' and also 'Unbreak My Heart' and 'You're Making Me High' were OK. The new songs? I never heard any of those songs before so on first listen...
'Hands Tied' is nice
'Make My Heart Beat' is a Beyonce rip-off which is really sad
'Yesterday' sound like 'Halo' with different lyrics to me
I am not interested to listen to the second version of 'Yesterday' or the whole album from this. I think it is really sad that she feels she has to be a copy cat of Beyonce when some of the music on her two first albums is way better than everything Beyonce ever did

Besides her first album and some of her 2nd album, her music is pretty forgettable/boring. She needs to hang it up and stop trying....

Liked a video of hers once, the one where she's on a pedestal in a white catsuit. Whatever it was called escapes me. smile

Her first 3 albums were fire before she started slipping.
I bought More Than a Woman and maybe 4 songs kept me
interested. Libra was even more disappointing.
I sure as hell won't waste time with Pulse.

I'm with you on this one, soon as someone is not in the spotlight they are on a comeback....GEESH Toni has nothing else to prove she is a veteran/legend in my eyes.

Exactly. If she wasn't, no one would be talking about her at all. But alas...here we are, talking.

Someone like Toni will always have that fan base, because she's worthy of it. She's made her mark in the business, and proved herself. She's paid her dues long ago (and a ton of lawyers to actually be able to pay for anything in the future).

I got the new Toni Braxton CD and i am feeling it.....Congrats to Toni on a job well done....I wish she would play piano more she looks quite sexy tapping on the keys. I hope she tours some small venues and i get a chance to see her the last time she came to st. louis, mo during the Libra CD she sold out in no time flat. She has a strong fan base in the STL!

Those who are dissing the album have probably not even heard it. It's a good album. She's got good songs throughout.

And you know this how?

Not hard to find copies of stuff just before it comes out. And it was released yesterday, May 4th.

I know. I was referring to how would he know who has listened to the
album or not because they stated it wasn't any good. The tracks that
i heard and the tracks didn't make the album just quite frankly aren't
good and i dig Toni Braxton.
