Fender P Bass

I just acquired one of these yesterday as a birthday gift. (i'm20NowHaters!)

I really dont know much about the instrument so I was wondering if U guys had any Info about Funky bassists who used it.

I figured I would come here 2 ask since a lot of people on the forum listen to the type of slappy bass funk that I want to emulate.

help!
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

In terms of R&B, Soul, Funk these are the only two I'm aware of.

Nick Fyffe (Jamiroquai)

James Jamerson (Motown) worship

U shouldnt B 2 jealous. lol

I fucked up with the thread title.

I was mislead, Its a Squier by Fender P Bass, pretty much a cheaper version of the real deal.

I dont think it will really change much tho, I cant play anything aside from improvised lines anyways.

I think the Squiers are still quite good. I'll probably get a Squier sometime...

Since he said "Funk" I didn't think he'd want the rockers. I forgot about Tower of Power bassist Mr. Francis Prestia and Mr. Paul Johnson of the Headhunters. Sting play's the P too, or he did? I'm not sure.

Forgot, Happy Birthday minneapolisFunq. party

Yes. Fender put out a Sting signature model...

...based on the original 50s design (Telecaster style neck/headstock)

And if by "rockers" you're referring to Pino, the reason why I labeled his pic "anybody you can think of" is because he's that versatile. Roy Hargrove, Bilal, Erykah Badu and D'Angelo are some of the artists with which he's shown his funky side.

Most will remember him from his days playing fretless with Paul Young...
