Bobby Mcferrin "Dont worry be happy"

Always dug this song. Love the video aswell. I seem to remember Spike Lee saying he hated the song or some bullshit. lol

I don't own his albums (my version is off the "cocktail" soundtrack LOL), but I wouldn't mind trying one out though?

I dont remember when it was first released (Iam sure it got played to death), but as this song is a cappella, it hasn't dated a jot. Very, very catchy lol

Believe it or not, these were the first words that my now, 22 year old nephew spoke. It came out around the time of his birth and was played constantly. We tease him about it to this day.

I don't think Bobby is too fond of this song now either. Does he still perform this live?

I like to sing this song, "Don't worry be crabby". giggle On a serious note though, it's amazing the way Bobby was able to make all those instrument sounds using just his voice/vocal chords, whatever.

I think it came out around 1988, if my memory serves me correctly.

Its a shame that of ALL the fabulous stuff he did,,,,,he's remembered by that radio jingle reject.

I'm glad you guys like the song though, but I suggest to check the rest of his music. The man is GIFTED.

P.S. Bobby McFerrin is an EXAMPLE why a "voice" should be considered an "instrument" wink I didn't think of him when that thread was still up.

It is a shame that this tune is all many know about this talented artist.
He won 4 Grammy awards in 1989 (3 related , 1 unrelated to the tune) and 6 others so far.
Yeah I know, "The Grammy Awards suck". That is unless your pet artist wins.

Yes it is. Mr. Mcferrin did a concert live from Oregon a decade ago, I think with the Oregon Symphony, brilliant. He did a Miles Davis tune I can't remember the song and I"ve been searching for that taping every since, it was aired on NPR.

nod A guy I used to work with gave me a cassette tape (this was back in the 90's) of one of Bobby McFerrin's albums (the name of which escapes me now). He definitely is talented.

And I like his contribution on "Soul Talkin'" on Chaka's CK album.
He really is so under rated. I get mad at people when they act like he's a 1 hit wonder.

One of my all-time favorites, like Al Jarreau but not as annoying, lol, j/k. I like to call him a one-man Take 6.

As for Don't Worry, Be Happy, the song is fine and all, but it's just the tip of the iceberg of this man's creativity. It's like only liking "I Feel Good" by James Brown or Isley Brothers "Who's That Lady", you're not even close to knowing this man's music.
