Makes me wanna go back to that era, when pop music was actually fun. [Edited 4/22/10 2:06am]

One of my favorite 80's songs. That's when I really listened to the radio. Nowadays, I don't listen.

I love the 12'' Mix featuring Madonna. She does some sexy spoken word... "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

Great pick. They even played this one on one of our R&B stations back in when it was in style. Andy is a four letter word.

When Madonna recorded her part, she hadn't even released her debut album yet So technically, this 12" remix could be the first time she appeared on an official recording.

Yep Our local R&B radio played this song and alot of other 'pop' songs in the 80s.Groups like Duran Duran,Culture Club and Naked Eyes got alot of airplay on R&B radio. These groups were "crossing over",you could say.

Which station did that? I'm sure I listened to it, but didn't realize it at the time. Not much later the stations segregated. LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE Promises Promises! The first few times I heard the song, I thought it was Duran Duran. *checks Ipod* [Edited 4/23/10 9:36am] "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

The bass does sound like Jon Taylor's doin the thumpin and pluckin. Kinda like a faster, funkier "Save A Prayer".

I absolutely adore this song!
It always makes me think of another '83 classic, so I always put them in the same playlists: Greg Kihn - Jeopardy "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
