Here's some I've been listening to for a while.

A couple that spring to mind.... I remember being impressed by the lyrics to this the first time I heard it. "How we gon' fight to keep freedom when we ain't got it?" - gotta love that.




I also feel like I should 'represent', as they say, for the UK. This one, from 2001, felt to me like a sort of landmark in UK hip hop. I love the tune and the video - especially since they both have an identity which draws on something that's an American art form but does something different with it that's unique to here. It's not even remotely 'bling', either...
