Madonna's new CD is titled "Hollywood" Due in April, the new Madonna CD is titled 'Hollywood',and the title track will be the second single. The first single is "American Life",and it comes out in late February.
I wonder if Madonna's CD will be a concept album of sorts. Will it have a Hollywood theme that runs through the songs? Will it be an autobiographical album that deals with her own fame and career? Only time will tell.

You know,I've heard so many rumors about what the new album will sound like,I don't know what to believe. Some insiders say that the new songs are mostly "electro-pop",while Madonna's own publicist insists that the album is "less electronic than the 'Music' CD.Others say that there is alot of guitar and that some songs rock really, really hard. So,it sounds like an eclectic collection of songs that can't be easily categorized. It should be quite interesting.

She better leave Die Another Day from the album. I'm gonna make a tracklist based on the songs that I have heard about.I'll put a star next to the titles that sound the most likely to appear on the album (based on the info I have received from reliable sources)--- "Hollywood"* "American Life"* "Die Another Day"* "Nothing Fails"* "Easy Ride* "Unless It's You"* "Believe Her" "Ziggy Stardust" "Can You See My Mind" "Rock Vanity" Be sure to keep a copy of this tracklist,so we can laugh like crazy when it turns out to be completely false

As long as she doesn't manipulate her voice with vocoders and all that other shit, i'll look forward to it. Madonnas music should be timeless not tied to a year like R&B.

I hope it will feature some better/deeper lyrics this time
because the "Music" album was a major let-down for me in that department. "Ray Of Light" had nice lyrics, with "Mer Girl" being one of my favorit songs by her, simply because of the really deep and autobiographical lyrics. The whole "Music" album seemed so empty and rushed. There were a few nice tunes, like "Gone" but overall it felt as if it were a non-release to tie her over until she had a decent album in the can. It always reminds me of U2's "Zooropa" for some reason, which suffers from the same problem. Some nice songs, but no cohesion. Treading old ground and coming up with a few interesting things, but leaving you short changed in the end. Well, treading "old" ground is not really the right thing to say, since they both had just released kick ass albums in a completely new direction from what they used to put out "Ray Of Light"/"Achtung Baby", but then it seems as if they don't know where to take that on the next album. And yes, PLEASE ditch the heavy techno vibe. A few songs or aditional techno/bleepy elements are cool. But not too much. I've been listening to "Erotica" and "Bedtime Stories" a lot recently and they sound so much more melodic and real compared to "Music". "Rain" and "Inside Of Me" alone are better than the whole Music cd. .. [This message was edited Sun Jan 26 11:10:25 PST 2003 by IstenSzek] and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I wish it was called "Touch."
I also have an issue with "Music," although I can't exactly lay my finger on what it is. It's certainly not in the caliber of "Ray of Light" in my book.

I think the 'Music' CD is an interesting album. It's probably the most unique-sounding Madonna album yet.She and producer Mirwais were really experimenting on that album, and none of the songs can be easily categorized. In fact, the title track is probably the only track that can truly be called "conventional".I suppose she could have just worked with William Orbit on the entire album, but clearly she didn't want to make 'Ray Of Light Part 2'.What I really like about 'Music' is,after the first three songs, the songs slow down and become much more moodier and melodic. The remainder of the album creates a certain "mood" that is hypnotic.
"Paradise (Not For Me)" has a haunting quality to it,really eerie sounding and dramatic..."Gone" could best be described as country-meets-techno,but it's a beautiful song..."What It Feels Like For A Girl" is one of Madonna's most powerful songs ever, with incredible lyrics and a cool,laid-back arrangement..."Impressive Instant" combines a 70s Disco beat with the techno sounds of today, resulting in a kickass dance track...and the title track simply ROCKS! In my opinion, there are only two weak songs on the album---"Runaway Lover" and "Amazing"---and Madonna wisely avoided these songs on the 'Drowned World Tour'. Edit... What are you talking about? To me the "Music" album shares honors along with "Like A Virgin", "I'm Breathless" and "Bedtime Stories" as the best Madonna albums.OK with the exception of BS none of those albums had great lyrics. But they are really special to me thanks to their music and the emotion they deliver. "Like A Virgin" was pure pop and unashamed fun. "I'm Breathless" was musically risky and far more daring than anything she's ever done. "Bedtime Stories" was the real change in direction (no dance/pop tunes there) and full of melancholy and sexiness (unlike "erotica" which i didn't find sexy at all with the exceptions of the first and last tunes). And "Music" was so musically free and experimental for a Madonna album that it deserves to be ranked with her best. It includes her two most club-oriented songs since "Into The Groove" ("Music" and "Impressive Instant") and the rest is beautifully melancholic and in a way sexy. Every single track in there is special to me (except "Runaway Lover" and "Amazing"). Ok Like A Prayer and Ray Of Light were the best in terms of lyrics and they are great albums, no doubt but they cannot generate the emotion musically-speaking that those albums mentioned above do. At least not to me.I'm sure everyone will disagree but that's my opinion

I remember a reviewer whom said that "Over-exposure to the new Madonna album "I'm Breathless, and most notably to "I'm Going Bananas" will cause rapid and irreversable tooth decay". I thougtht that was pretty funny since the only good song on the whole damn album was "Vogue". The rest was horror; and that's an understatement. This is the only album I'm convinced she will agree with herself, is a complete piece of shit. And y'all know Madonna knows her "shit" from her "shit" cuz she told Prince the Grafitty Bridge was a right old piece of crap. I couldn't have said it better myself. The 'Music' CD is musically adventurous and free.Madonna had already done a big,introspective,soul-baring album with 'Ray Of Light' so for 'Music',I think she wanted to go in another whole direction. She wanted to have a little fun ("I like to singy,singy,singy...like a bird on a wingy, wingy, wingy") and create an album that didn't sound like anything else she had done before.'Music' contains elements of techno, folk, pop, country, and dance. I predict that her new CD will follow the same path, while at the same time, taking her in some directions.

I consider other dance records such as "Express Yourself" or "Rescue Me" better. And there are plenty of other good songs on that album (nevermind the lyrics). "He's A Man", oscar-winner "Sooner Or Later", "Hanky Panky", "Something To Remember", "Cry Baby", "Back In Business" "What Can You Lose" and "More" they're all better than "Vogue" as far as I'm concerned although "Vogue" will forever overshadow all the rest thanks to its club performance, dance routines, amazing videos strong single sales and impact.

DOES any one agree thet Madonna is the spokes person or flag ship for the United States far as represtenting the United States Ideals and Modernism to out side countrys ...thats why they take so much time on her albums to produce excellent quality music as opposed to ANY other pop icon. She inb essenece is uplifting the image of the "white women" and she is our countries "madonna" as in how "madonna" from the bible represents the catholic church

"Music" is a very bold album and the songs you praise certainly deserve it, particularly "Impressive Instant," "Paradise" and "What It Feels Like for a Girl." I would say that "I Deserve It" is among her most powerful songs as well. There is just something about the album that keeps me from loving it fully. Here are my top 5 Madonna albums (not counting compilations): 1. Like a Prayer 2. Ray of Light 3. Madonna 4. True Blue 5. Music

I under stand she has more liberal ideals BUT she represents those in the US and I feel that being liberal is having "modern" ideals. She represents america more than any artist today and continues to because they put so much time into everything she does in the public eye...if she was left to her own devices none of her albums would amount to a pile of shit...sorry it the truth. I like alot of her stuff I used to be a fanatic like I am about prince...then I realized who she really is and what she means to other countries representing American Ideals, and that put her in much better perspective
You dont think any other star could be like her if the industry allowed it?? AND allowed being the key word

and when I referr to america I really am not talking about many people over 40 more like 35 and under
those other people their days are numbered and coming to a close as we speak the Ideals of our parents from the civil rights movement and vietnam and all that good stuff are slowely but surely coming into play which most are quite liberal even if now they are doctors or lawyers or run a commune havent forgot there ways and the thing they beleived

Well I don't really see your point. The American ideals you are talking about are very much European ideals as well. Actually most or perhaps all of them were born in Europe not America. I respect American ideals and all but over here people are having more or less the same ideas but we don't go around calling them European, do we? Let me remind you that the world's most liberal countries are in Europe, democracy was born in europe and the rennaisance happened in europe. So the ideals you are talking about are actually not american but western or northern atlantic. And i don't think Madonna is representing anything but herself. By the way i have lived in four different european countries, met a lot of Madonna fans and none are thinking of Madonna as some kind of American symbol and definitely not since the time she moved to the UK and she steadily works with European producers (Andrew Lloyd-Webber, William Orbit, Mirwais). We are probably considering Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston much more as a US symbol than Madonna.

GOD DAMN! I AINT TALKIN BOUT EUROPE IM TALKIN ABOUT MADONNA AND HER REPRESENTING AMERICA AS A PLACE THAT SUPPOSEDLY HAS MODERN IDEALS
NOT THAT SHE ORIGINATES THE IDEAS AND GIVES THEM TO THE REST OF THE WORLD DAMN THAT THE DUMBEST THING I EVER HEARD Madonnas music is good because the industry wants her to be good cause she represents the good ideals of america that other counties already have or wish to have for those that dont have they like cause she has these values plain and simple for countries that ALREADY HAVE THES VALUES she represtents for AMERICA that AMERICA IS JUST AS MODERN AS EUROPE OR WHAT HAVE YOU US does not even have all the same ideals but she nmakes it seem as IF we do and that why the US as a whole and the industry CONTROLL the quality of her music causde they value her representing the UNITESD STATES MAKEING THE UNITED STATES LOOK AS IF THEY ARE DIVERSE AND HAVE MODERN IDEALS and I aint talkin about the "american dream" she makews it seem as if we are culturally diverse and acceptant of other and ALL ideals even if they are foreign to western thoughts when it in all reality be furthure from the truth she poses this image that the UNITED STATES is like 20 years a head in its ideals she makes us seem as if we are european in values if you will I may not be living in europe but I got enough god damn taste to know that Europe as a whole is ahead of the United States by ten years everything reflects this from our architectur to cars to furniture to what we/you believe is valuable i.e. arts versus corperations [This message was edited Mon Jan 27 11:18:09 PST 2003 by GIOVANNI] [This message was edited Mon Jan 27 11:19:19 PST 2003 by GIOVANNI]
