Reggie Watts - Human BeatBox Looper/Comedian/Soul /Funk Vocalist ...
I first heard of Reggie Watts through his vocals and musical collaborations with various Soul/Funk, Rock and Electronica artists--folks like like Aja West, Soulive, Maktub, Meshell Ndegeocello, Wayne Horvitz , and through his own electro/soul album, Simplified, from back in 2003. I also featured one of his tracks with Aja West - "Out Of Control", on my Org mixtape a few weeks back... However, I didn't realize that he's been really making a name over the last few years as an innovative one man show,--a Human Beatbox/Looper, and stream-of-conciousness Comedian. (In fact I just saw a few of his bumpers for Comedy Central. He''s currently opening for Conan O'Brian on his national tour...he also has a new CD/DVD of his one man show, called "Why Shit So Crazy?.....these are just a few examples of his varied talent.... ... it's funny, I just caught that show last night, too--when I started the thread, I knew he had a CD/DVD of the show, but I didn't realize they were also gonna broadcast it on Comedy Central!
