Mind you, I like the girl and all but to be honest I don't own any of her albums. I'm seriously considering to pursue her stuff though.

Still, I read alot of rants about the absence of musicianship, marriage between melodies & lyrics and a proper voice to carry them in mainstream radio YET here she is anyway doing her thing, with lil' or no mention here, in fact, the popular reaction I'm getting is, she's a snoozefest lounge singer knock off

I still don't hear that though. So anyway folks, here it is just like you guys want it; voice, lyrics, melodies and real instruments,,,,,you think she'll enjoy a long career in music?

Yes, I think Norah will have a long career. Why? Because she is not a fly by night pop bimbo with no real talent. She has a beautiful voice and she can sing live with no problems at all. Also, she is not getting by with glitz, glam and ass-shaking. Norah has 3 cd's out and all our exceptional. Beautiful music and good lyrics. I saw her live a few years ago and was thoroughly impressed by her vocals and style.

Isn't she already the most successful Asian artist in US history? That's gotta count for something.

I think she'll have a long career ahead of her, probably going Gold with each release. I can't really see her going platinum because her material isn't very different from album to album and her fans seem to have gotten bored.

Norah is here to stay, get used to it. First of all, she is the biggest selling Female artist of the decade, NOT Mrs.Knowles, and thats counting her DC numbers. But sales aside, Norah is a musician first and foremost and has the following to go into any market and play. She was easily the most prolific artist of the decade, and most diverse because of the people she worked with and was in demand from, i mean she worked with everyone from Qtip to Willie Nelson to Outkast to the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, i have at least 50 cds that i never would have bought of artists, but since she had a cut on there with them i got it. And then her ability to hide from the "light" of stardom really like no one i have seen in awhile, she goes underground, does a rock band thing with "El Madmo" and then has the "Little Willies" projects, to me thats an artist, and thats why she will always be recording, sales or not.

Hasn't she been around making hits for a decade? I have her first two albums and must admit I just started listening to her second one (after having it for years and never listening) and to my surprise, I like it.

she's already got a lot of songs under her belt but i'm not sure if she's
ever gonna be bigger than she was with her debut single/album.

perhaps she'll do more acting in the future? (blueberry nights was good).

her last album was kinda different, but all in all, her albums have been
solid and well put together. i also love her voice. it's soothing/warm.

wasn't she also involved in some alter ego group where she did stuff you
would never have expected her to be doing? can't remember tho.

I think Norah is will continue to have success and a long solid career. She may never become a huge superstar but she's going to be just fine.

Norah Jones has her niche and does extremely well in it.

She's been releasing albums and touring for eight years. How does she not have a future? She's had it for a while now.

I LOVE NORA. She is talented, beautiful and very, very wise.


First she writes some of her own songs and has an attractive, sexy voice. She plays nice with other well respected musicians, does duets all the time, and is respected in turn by them. I have her albums and love them. Like Prince she doesn't stick to one genre. Unfortunately unlike Prince, she doesn't have the best vocal range so I won't listen to her four albums in a row, can listen to 10 releases of Prince in a row without a problem.

She is very beautiful, to me she resembles Mayte Garcia. Unlike others,she sells albums by singing. She doesn't endorse beauty products or go to every red carpet event wearing the latest fashions. She doesn't have a perfume out (although Sunrise would be a cool name for one) and isn't staring at me from every magazine rack and beauty product isle and TV advertisement. She could certainly have when her first two albums clearly outsold everybody else.
This is where the wise comes in. She doesn't overexpose herself and then bitch about the papparazzi. She doesn't need to spend a fortune on a posse of bodyguards to follow her everywhere. Her clothing choices are pretty non-descript.

She is totally unpretentious and where others have a PR staff to push them into the public eye 24/7 Nora actually pulls herself out of the public eye when she feels that she is getting too big.

She is as big as she wants to be and she is nowhere near being "yesterday". Did I say I was a HUGE fan??? I respect her as a person aswell.

you know what, I think Prince and Norah would look and sound cute together..It will never happen. People call her things like down-to-earth and unpretentious. Those are two ways that people will never describe Prince. Kevin Smiths movie thing of Prince was supose to eventually include a Prince and Norah duet - well we know that documentary will never surface and I don't think they even got together for the duet.
I think prince would lighten Norah up a bit, she might get funky, but I doubt if Prince will go country, who knows?

i wish he would date someone like her (i know, I know) but she has her own "bank" and won't be easily impressed by his Mr Goodnight shtick. he would have to bring alot more than that to the table.
I said this to someone else, given the fact that he likes light to medium brown girls, with big brown eyes, long dark hair and high cheekbones, i am suprised he hasn't been seen with a few East Indian beauties.
