So how do we feel about the NEW batch of UNSUNG George Clinton
Tammi Terrell Teddy Pendergrass Musical Youth Heatwave Angela Winbush The O'Jays Don't Think the O'Jays are Unsung

The O'Jays are definitely far from Unsung.
George Clinton too. Musical Youth were one-hit wonders. But I love to see Tammi Terrell, Teddy Bear, Heatwave and Angela.

To be honest, DeBarge (in some degree), Phyllis, Donny, and the Clark Sisters were legends, so were the people they covered since. They had some kind of influence. There could be some politics about why some acts won't be covered.

True that, but EVERYONE knows George. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

They know his P-Funk period, not the early years or what happened after he peaked. Hell Bootsy is famous for the P-Funk period and he was covered.

I've seen one of his live shows and he was stoned. I saw Charlie Wilson with the Gap Band in 96 when he just came out of rehab. Everyone in the audience saw something was wrong with Charlie as he walked gingerly back and forth across the stage. I was always told that Charlie smoked serious weed in the 80's. I didn't believe it until he admitted it years later that he had a drug problem Don't laugh at my funk

I would like to see one on "Bill Withers". He, like Stacy Lattisaw, left the business on his own terms. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Actually, there's a GOOD documentary about him, shorttrini Its an indie docu-film, so you might catch it in the IFC theatres(if you're in NYC) or do like I do and wait for the DVD to be released. And while we're at it, go 'head and pick up Billy Paul's documentary Am I Black Enough For You? on DVD, you're gonna enjoy this one as well.

What was it that caused Bill to walk away? I think it was him becoming disillusioned by showbiz, not to mention he wanting to spend more time with is family. I guess that is what it was. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"
