In terms of OTW and Triumph, Michael was working on them at the same time

He started working on Off The Wall the WEEK after Destiny was released, and worked on the album while doing the Destiny Tour and started writing for Triumph the same time

Thanx for the insight !

From The Muddy Banks of Wishkah is the best Nirvana album.

Muse are a terrible band for the same reason as ELO and Queen were dreadful before them. The whole style of arena rock and art pretentions that stinks of insincerity, melodrama and cheese.

Rage Against The Machine are cod-political morons with nothing relevant to say about the world we live in.

Listening to The Doors or Rage Against The Machine is something you should grow out of before you turn 18.

Hip-hop will die a death like disco.

If Mariah Carey could sing her songs without going to the top of her vocal range towards the end for no apparent reason she could be passable.

Post-punk was better than punk.

The Geto Boys are the best thing to have come out of hip-hop besides 2pac and Biggie.

Morrissey is maybe a fifth of the songwriter that Leonard Cohen was at his peak.

It's time to forget Michael Jackson.

Jewel > Alanis Morrisette.

The Ramones were garbage.

MJ did most of his best work with the Jacksons.. Without the first part of his career with his brothers, his career would just be about 4 albums and he would not have the legacy he now has.

No argument there. The Jackson Five material is top-notch.

However,I feel that after 'Off The Wall',it was clear who the 'star' really was.Michael didn't need his brothers anymore. With that album,he had established himself as a hit-making solo artist capable of brilliance. The other brothers simply didn't have the talent that Michael had.Notice that they didn't really have any hits without Michael.

That is true to an extent. However I do believe albums like Destiny and Triumph were better than some of his solo albums. Destiny and Triumph were group efforts, with all the brothers, bar Jermaine involved. Without such albums to his name classic/vintage MJ would be exclusively about OTW and to a certain extent Thriller. Unfortunately by the time we get to the Bad era the vintage, soulful MJ had virtually disappeared. That leads me to another unpopular opinion MJ sounded more soulful age 12 than he did age 40!!

This thread has been Mijacked (Michael Jackson fans have hijacked it.

Other unpopular opinions

1. Hip hop is mostly enjoyed by an uneducated and disadvantaged urban demographic. Most of these fans don't finish high school and are likely to be involved in the justice system by their teens and are likely to father or have one child before their twenties.
2. Sex in the city was overrated
3. Family Guy is way better than the simpsons
4. most Americans are not as obese as we would think, the BMI system is flawed and many so called Obese people are in fact only just inside the obese classification (BMI's in the 30s).
5. Despite what FOX thinks, Barack Obama is doing a great job as the president
6. There is still a lot of racism in rural southern areas of the USA against black people.
7. The world is not going to end in 2012.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

1) I'm not gonna lie, I am a little mad you would say that because one I grew up in a pretty decent family life, two, not only did I finish high school with a 3.2, but I'm currently finishing my second semster in college and three, as a female, I don't really care for children at all. And not all rap is about killing and drugs, now, to some extent I agree, but not all rap fans are like that. To judge people based on what type of music they listen to is pretty dumb, you know.

2) Never cared for that show.

3) I stopped watching it a long time ago.

4) nod

5) nod Fox sucks anyway. Bill O' Reilly and his ignorant friends can shove it.

6) Well, duh. I live here, I would know, and many, but not all, black and white people are pretty ignorant I will say. Especially black people, with their light-skinned vs dark-skinned mess. disbelief

7) nod I'm sorry but people who actually believe that, needs to be locked up in an asylum.

Thank you, Michael's brothers weren't gum under his shoe to scrapped off. Would they had been succesful without Mike? Probably not, but he would've not have enjoyed nor had the type of solo career he had either.....

In other words, MJ's "Off THe Wall", "Thriller", & "Bad" as we know them proabably wouldn't have come to fruition.
