How come nobody told me they released One Man Show into DVD?
Review 1 Intro 2 Warm Leatherette 3 Walking In The Rain 4 Feel Up 5 La Vie En Rose 6 Demolition Man 7 Pull Up To The Bumper 8 Private Life 9 My Jamaican Guy 10 Living My Life 11 I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango) 12 Slave To The Rhythm 13 Love Is The Drug 14 Crush --Track listing Product Description NTSC/Region 0. This DVD contains a rarely seen concert from the model, actress and vocalist. On looks alone, Grace Jones has become an import part of our pop culture. More so than any model of her era, she proved that models could be strong and sensual instead of wispy, helpless and frail. Musically, she transcends genres, incorporating Pop, Disco, Reggae, New Wave and other styles into the mix. These live performances were taped in 1981while on tour promoting her album Nightclubbing. Her striking looks and ground-breaking music are perfect recipes for a feast for the eyes, ears, heart and soul. Features 14 tracks including 'Warm Leatherette', 'Pull Up To The Bumper', 'Walking In The Rain', 'La Vie En Rose' and many more. Immortal. It's an official release? Why indeed haven't we been told! I'm all about that! I just saw it on Amazon. Looks legit but is it possible this isn't "One Man Show". After all, they aren't saying it is. And they might have just taken a bunch of pics from there. I sure looks like it...but why not just call it that? Odd. I really want it! [Edited 4/19/10 0:30am]

"'Fill-in-the-blank' is bitter and jealous of Lady gaga's success." I guess if Paul McCartney or somebody like that said it, they'd be jealous too? OR Maybe...just MAYBE, with all of the video proof and pictures floating around that substantiate that Gaga's style comes from combinations of other artists - MAYBE her team does actually steal from other artists to make her look happen? But what do I know, I'm just bitter and jealous of her success. and Grace Jones should choke the sh*t out of Rihanna. [Edited 4/17/10 19:54pm] For real.

Lawd... I just choked on my bluberry oatmeal

Someone posted "Pull Up To My Bumper" awhile back, which forced me to download her entire catalog to see what I've been missing. I gotta say, I couldn't find one other song that I liked as much as "Bumper." Grace is extremely interesting in terms of visual appeal, but the bitch can't sing! Maybe she doesn't need to.

Timmy84 said: Love it, Glad Grace finally spoke out about Gaga, Gagas good, but Grace Jones is the originator of shock pop. I feel Grace has been short changed by Gag having so much success with her music, while our Grace never went much beyond an artist with a cult and gay following in her prime, when the masses should have been adoring her as well. Best thing about Grace Jones, she never ever really gave a fuck about what anyone thought. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Gaga needs to stop blowing it out of proportion, Grace's comments were not bitchy, just to the point. Gaga should feel honoured that the Great Diva even acknowledged her. Could Gaga ever do a video or a song like Corporate Cannibal in her 60s.
Has anyone watched the 2008 interview with Johnathan Ross, she was really clear there and the part about her son was amazing "He's really normal, everyone thinks hes mad or gay". So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

midiscover said: Any number of artists have asked to collaborate with her. Was Lady Gaga one of them?
"I just don't play with other acts as a rule," she says, with rare discretion. What does she think of her? "I really don't think of her at all. I go about my business." Has she copied her? "Well, you know, I've seen some things she's worn that I've worn, and that does kind of piss me off." Is she talented? "I wouldn't go to see her." So, did she ask to play with her? "Yes, she did, but I said no. I'd just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually." http://www.guardian.co.uk...-interview

NaughtyKitty said: Grace Jones sounds bitter and jealous. Lady Gaga isnt copying anyone, but has she borrowed from other artists, yes! Aint nothing wrong with that. Gaga obviously has been inspired by many artists and singers of the 70s/80s, not just Grace Jones. Grace is jealous of Gaga's enormous success because Gaga is doing some of what Grace did and is getting rave reviews for it. Grace needs to stop hating.
damn, you fell for it "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

You can't just say shit like that. Gay Hell awaits. Grace is a G.O.D.D.E.S.S. I wouldn't expect a comment from her to be any less than over the top or cutting. Gaga is still in training but bringin it and I love her for it.

These Grace Jones songs are linked to specific memories for me.
First heard this song I think from my aunt that used to babysit us after school. This one I think is the first GJ vid I ever saw and I remember it so well cuz the image of her in that milk bath or whatever just stayed on my mind. Funny the things you remember.
