Akon is convinced Lady Gaga has scared all her music rivals into copying her sound - insisting Christina Aguilera is "trying to do the exact same thing musically".

The R&B singer takes the credit for discovering Gaga after he signed her to his KonLive label at Interscope Records in 2007 when she was dropped by another of the company's imprints.

The Poker Face hitmaker went on to become an international music sensation, and Akon is convinced her popularity is having an effect on other pop stars who are trying to compete.

Akon admits he's listened to Aguilera's upcoming album, Bionic, and he's convinced the Dirrty hitmaker is doing herself a disservice by trying to mimic Gaga's inimitable style.

He continues, "Christina shouldn't have anything to prove or anyone to compete with. I miss the old Christina Aguilera. I like the old one better than the new one. Honestly, Gaga and Christina could probably get together and do something that's amazing. But that's impossible if they are both trying to do the same exact thing musically.

"(Aguilera is) not even any competition. You are actually giving Christina too much credit. She always had her cool little look and way about how she went about things. But soon as Gaga came out, everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different. And the crazy thing is Christina is really talented.

"I think sometimes she gets insecure because of all of the success Gaga has had, not realising that she was already successful before Gaga came out."

He's a fucktard. Aguilera was releasing some songs she had already recorded a few years ago, right when Gaga was still a no name. People were finding similarities between them, but how many people have locked into that heavy synth sound before and after Gaga? If anything, Gaga is the one copying other people and following trends.

Akon's a nobody and zero talent.

Considering AKON produced bullshit songs for Lionel Richie, he has no clue on what people should be doing, nice opinion, but stop the double standard already, plus he has no clue what Aguilera has on the cd since its not even complete yet so who knows what else is on the record, but at least she mixes up the styles, as opposed to the one note man who sounds the same on every record and so do his lame productions. Facts - Christina WAS biting off Lady Gaga when she first dropped.
Lady Gaga and Chritsina are both biting off of various other artists.
Neither of them are particularly original.
Both of them can sing better than Akon.
