Deniece Williams - Niecy (Reissue)

1. Waiting By the Hotline
2. It's Gonna Take A Miracle
3. Love Notes
4. I Believe in Miracles
5. How Does It Feel
6. Waiting
7. Now Is the Time For Love
8. A Part of Love

I ordered this from Amazon last week and got it yesterday in the mail. I must say that I am so impressed with the reissue packaging. They have scans of all of the singles and album labels. They also have detailed liner notes and lyrics. There is also a scan of the promo picture disc from 82. I highly recommend this.

I bought it last month lol It's a very impressive package! 16 pages of liner notes, with interesting commentary by Deniece. These are types of remasters that I really enjoy.

Me 2. No 2-fer. No "changing of the artwork" or anything drastic. Just a historical look at the album and it's place in history.

The liner notes are interesting.Deniece says that she wanted to continue working with producer Thom Bell, but the label had other plans. After 'Niecy',they paired her with George Duke. Some great songs were recorded with him (including her huge pop crossover smash "Let's Hear It For The Boy") but it's a shame that she never did another album with Thom. She says that they may still work together in the future.

Niecy's version of 'It's Gonna Take a Miracle' is THE definitive one, IMO.

nod this is how a remaster should be done! I hope they give similiar treatment to her previous album 'My Melody'.

"My Melody" has already been issued here in the states and is so readily available, I don't think they should waste time reissuing that particular title. If they are going to do future reissues on her, they should concentrate on those harder to find titles like "Songbird" and "I'm So Proud", which are still only available as out-of-print, high-priced Japan imports.

Songbird was recently issued as a 2fer from the UK. It is much cheaper.

I looked for 'My Melody' on-line and it appears to be out of print shrug I found a few used copies on Amazon.I wouldn't mind a fresh remaster, with new liner notes. But yeah,it would be cool to get those other titles you mentioned.

Really? Can you provide a link to where the "Songbird" twofer is being sold? I can't seem to find a listing for it anywhere.

It must be out of print now. It is still available as a "remastered" copy also.
