nod And see she know she can't do it. Black folks would boo her far worse than they did in 1989 at the Soul Train Awards.

I felt sorry Houston, they tried and hung the girl out to dry befo' she could take second step on the stage, it wasn't purty.

Harlepolis

Ya know what though?

Nippy could work with what she has, she doesn't need to be on the "grand proper singer" kick she's hell bent on, she just needs to be PERSONAL and sing something that really gets the messege across.

The "talk-singing" thing is very old, Billie Holiday was famous for doing it in "Lady In Satin" album(also, another diva who lost her voice and ended up seeing people writing her off at the time) yet the album is still emotionally charged.

Now if she stops working with dung beetles like A-Corn & Alicia Sneeze, and start working with people like George Duke who I'm sure will bring the soul back in her singing, she'll be fine.

And that's mainly the problem right there. She insists on trying to be what she once was in the '80s and '90s and she's not trying to face up to the truth of the situation. That's the saddest part about it.

She should get a role on one of the daytime soaps.Release new albums every four years or so.Touring is out of the question.

I agree, maybe she should try a different approach.Instead of trying to present herself as "the big-voiced powerhouse" that she was in the 80s,why not simply look the other way? No more big notes, just some subtle,laid-back singing, without the big "flashy" production. It might be her best bet.
