INDIA ARIE NO LIKE GAGA???? Well...this is interesting. I will listen to whatever India has to say about whoever. This child never bores...right or wrong.
India claimed her issue wasn’t with the the nudity in the video so much as the dark elements and unspoken back story that disturbed her. She also said Gaga’s influence and ability to turn the taboo into trend were also troubling. Here are the rest of her tweets: http://bossip.com/228541/...one-video/

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. India isn't the first to think this about Lady GaGa.

I love me some India, but she needs to stop soundin so self-righteous.
Artists criticizing other artists is a turn off.

And why do some of her posts look like she's just been introduced to the English vocabulary.
This woman is an amazing writer. Come on, now. I'm taking grammatical responsibility. I expect everything that comes out of India to be poetry. [Edited 3/22/10 22:19pm]

Artists criticizing other artists is a turn off. I have a bit of an issue with that as well..... Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

I don't like India. All her shit sounds the same and she sings about the same shit that no one cares about. Erykah Badu is a much better version of India. Why India is so bitter is beyond me, but chick needs to give it a rest. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Are you saying she's bitter based on what she has said about Lady Gaga? Would that mean that anybody who expresses their opinion about another artist, whether they are an artist themselves, is bitter? Or, is it possible that they are not bitter yet they have things they don't like about something?

why oh why would she even tweet something like that
isn't she all about love peace and non-violent communication? I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

I want to know what these "dark" undertones are!
Aside from a few cuss-words, the 'Telephone' video could have been a Muppet Show sketch circa 1979. Yes, there is snogging, a bit of flesh and mass homicide - but it's just so cartoon-like and silly.

... Both bore the hell out of me anyway... Actually, I love Indias first two albums... But after a while her "hippie-everybody is beautiful-peace&Love-fliksy-bluesy" formula got tiresome... Now I'm just... Everybody is somebody, but nobody wants to be themselves.

Artists criticizing other artists is a turn off. She basically just copied what Whitney already said. And then let me add that that the people who are making calls are people who arent doing anything different in their own music other than the same tired thing they have been doing since they first came out....maybe if they pushed themselves to be different everytime they came out they would not have anything to say. I love India but all art should be respected. Not just the self righteous type. My band opened for her a few years back. India has a flawless voice and is a good guitar player. However she is a one trick pony. She sings about the downtrodden and self upliftment and thats it. To really become a great you have to take risk which she doesn't at all. I am not a big Lady Gaga fan but she pushes the envelope which I respect.

yes she is bitter with a capital "B". she's still crying over those grammys she lost out to alicia keys back in 2002 (i.m.o) the good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge ~ Bertrand Russel

EYE INDIA
If the music was the most important thing(as it should be), not silly visual images and these stupid fuckin videos, she'd be a much bigger star. This is why artist who have real musical talent but not the "look" or "image" companies want, never see the light of day. The result is the garbage you now hear on your radio and see on MTV. Well maybe not MTV. They stopped playing music years ago --Strange how one of the most musically talented people of all time(Michael Joseph Jackson) made the music video more important than the music itself. Fate it seems, is not without a sense of irony.

why doesn't she just go write another song about her hair and the rest of us will go back to not bothering to wonder what India Arie (excuse me India.Arie) likes and doesn't like.

Has India ever spoken out about losing those Grammys to Alicia?
To be honest, in my eyes, India and Alicia have the same amount of talent "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
