This is tough.

1. Physical Attraction (the first song I ever heard by her on the radio)
2. Burning Up
3. Everybody
4. Borderline
5. Lucky Star
6. Holiday (so overplayed)
7. Think Of Me
8. I Know It

The first three songs are very close together in terms of appeal for me. On a different day, one of the other three might top the list.

True, the Purple Rain movie opened when I was 15. That was the perfect age to experience all that craziness firsthand. And then see the tour a few months later. love

I didn't know "Physical Attraction" was played on the radio.

It wasn't in P.R. as far as I can remember. pout

It was the b-side to "Burning Up" which I'm assuming was too pop for the urban station here in NY so DJs spun the b-side instead.

Now that I think about it, I did hear "Everybody" first on the radio since that was her very first single. hmmm

I remember hearing songs like "Everybody,"Lucky Star" and "Holiday" on the R&B stations long before pop radio embraced her.I thought she was black lol When "Borderline" was released as a single, things really changed.I finally started hearing her on pop stations.

I don't think I heard "Lucky Star" on the radio here until after "Borderline". I do know it got played in clubs as the b-side to "Holiday" long before it was sent to the top 40 stations though.

A lot of people did. I remember r&b stations bumping "Holiday" and "Lucky Star" a lot. Too bad they won't touch those songs anymore.

My favorite song is "Borderline" because I had soo many childhood memories that that song could easily be a theme song for.
I think in a lot of ways she was the Lady GaGa of the Mtv generation.

Although I don't love absolutely everything she's done,
she's still high on my list, withstanding the test of time,
remaking herself, and inevitably rising to the top over
and over again. It's hard not to admire that!

So yeah, she gets my vote of appreciation! cool

nod She's had an incredible career and after all this time, she's still selling out arenas and having Number One albums.Back in 1983,who would have thought that she would achieve all of this?

Not me, that's for sure.

I remember going to her material girl concert, and I was surrounded on all sides by tweens lol
Things have changed a bit since then.

Oh, I forgot to rank the songs. Here's my take (ranking in my all-time Madonna top-50 in parentheses):

1. Borderline (7)
2. Lucky Star (22)
3. Everybody (35)
4. Physical Attraction (42)
5. Holiday (44)
6. Burning Up
7. Think of Me
8. I Know It

LiveToTell86

1. Borderline
2. Burning Up
3. Everybody
4. Lucky Star
5. Holiday
6. Physical Attraction
7. I Know It
8. Think Of Me

I don't really play this album anymore though, ever since the 5 singles appeared on Celebration, it feels quite useless to put it on. Plus that version of "Lucky Star" is a huge improvement.

The cover art and the photoshoot still remains one of her best.
