Does anyone know if there is a video or link out there to marvin's song which isolates his vocals? Or better yet timmy(or anyone else) do you know if/what Marvin is saying when he is da-da-da-ing, I'm pretty sure after the second verse he's saying something but the scatting is covering it.

An acapella mix to "Inner City Blues" COULD exist but I haven't been able to find it but I've found some acapella versions to "Mercy Mercy Me" and "What's Going On" and "Let's Get It On" and songs like that so it COULD be out there somewhere. Maybe it'll be featured on a 40th anniversary edition of WGO next year. I know it's hopeless.

Yeah if you have the album's liner notes, it says in the lyrics:

"Makes me wanna holler, they don't understand" clearly. Hear the live version of the song from his Kennedy Center set, he does sing that "understand" part.
