I have to admit there WAS some comedy in it. That last bit when Flash reemerges with the fucking Four Horsemen and they're singing some Prince-styled song and then JT struts over and turns it off.

There was some Four Tops songs played that was in the right time period though ("Shake Me, "Wake Me (When It's Over)" and "It's the Same Ole Song" though by the end of that song, the timeline speeds to 1968).

In the beginning when the Heartbeats were at that talent show...

Ole dude on the piano fucking up their song and being all . He didn't give a damn and then Duck thew his big ass off the bench! OMG I'm laughing so hard now! .

But as funny as it was when the film was made, that actually happened at the Apollo Theater. And Big Red actually tricked people to dissing the Heartbeats even before they came onstage when they went against Bird and the Midnight Falcons. After Duck threw dude off the piano bench, the audience's moods changed drastically after Eddie opened his soulful voice. I love when his mother is going "YES" in the audience and his dad is like .

And also you know about that Sargeant guy (Harold Nicholas) that Jimmy hired, that was a doppleganger of Cholly Atkins.
