Yep,it's only the performance clips, then the interview, then clips of the Soul Train dancers, and the occasional Afro-Sheen commercial lol I would have preferred the full episodes, but it's still a cool set.

So far,I'm very impressed! lol All 9 discs come in a nice box,and there are some great liner notes with each disc.I haven't watched any of the bonus features yet but I'll get to it soon. The Afro-Sheen commercials are fun to watch! They pop up after certain performances, making you feel as if you're back in the 70s,watching 'Soul Train' on a Saturday morning.

Great stuff!!! thumbs up!

That's not missing much. By the time they started that awards show (the late 1980s), music in general had already turned to the worst. I'd rather have "The R&B Awards" that used to air on WGN back in the early 1980s.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the very first Soul Train Awards show. It's from 1987,a time when we still had some decent R&B.Cameo opens the show with "Word Up".

I got this box-set a couple of days ago, it's good, but it's not great. It's not worth the money I paid for.

I found more clips of Train online than on this box set. Save your money folks, for now at least until the price goes down.
