I remember attending a show on the Janet tour & Rene was scoping the place around Janet like a hawk. He was very protective of her. I thought that was kind of strange since Janet has bodyguards to do that. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

Yes, he was so over-protective of Janet like wherever she went, he wanted to tag along. I remember seeing him at my show on the Velvet Rope tour and he was nice enough to let some fans (me included) go backstage to meet Janet. That's the only thing I liked about him. He pushed Janet to be more communicative with her fans. But the fool was an ass! He was controlling and I believe emotionally abusive. | |

I don't know what eventually broke them up, but I met Rene several times in '95 and '98... I got into concerts for free, got to the front row, got to meet Janet backstage and went out clubbing with them... all because of Rene! He was great! When they first parted ways, it was a very amicable parting... as he still went into the Miss Janet chatroom... sometimes at the same time as Janet! It only turned ugly a while later! Rene co-wrote "what about" with janet. and she has said in plenty of interviews that song was about her and rene's previous relationships.
