Paolo Nutini

I guess this guy isn't really popular stateside. But I saw him on TV here in an old Isle Of Wight performance and was astounded! It's like Otis Redding meets Bob Marley in the body of some pretty, young, white boy, yet oddly authentic. Fantastic! I haven't been this excited over an artist since I found out about Amy Winehouse.

My question is, "Are there other soulful, lesser known artists out there like Paolo I should know about?"

His 1st album is bad but the 2nd is surprisingly good.

Very folky and Bob Dylan esq (but, obviously no way near as good!).

Pencil Full Of Lead is amazing.

and he's from Paisley lol.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

I'm loving both albums at the moment. Though they're obviously pretty different. I feel like vocally, the first is more Otis and the second is more Marley. I guess he's still trying to figure out his niche. I still can't get over the contradiction of his voice and his physical appearance. I HAVE to see him live.

Anyone in Europe want to go to the upcoming Turin show with me? biggrin

I would suggest going to see him in Glasgow I'd bet he'd step it up a notch for a home show.

I think that one was sold out, as well as the London shows, unfortunately.

This is one of the saddest and most touching songs I've ever heard. I forgot to mention it on the GD thread about songs that make you depressed sigh.
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....
