Two points.
1) Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention when Midnight Special/In Concert etc originally aired but I thought most acts performed live? The Cars... ...Let's Go Steely Dan... ...Reelin' In The Years (speaking of "Skunk") EW&F... ...Shining Star 2) The lady in the blue dress is so tiny, it looks like she's dancing with her father.

1) Yeah, most acts did, but I'm thinking that around '79, they may have started to resort to the lip synch thing.... 2) I agree!!!
