Two points.

1) Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention when Midnight Special/In Concert etc originally aired but I thought most acts performed live?

1) Yeah, most acts did, but I'm thinking that around '79, they may have started to resort to the lip synch thing....

Ok...Yeah, I noticed the same thing on Don Kirshner's 'Rock Concert'...by 1980, everybody was lip-synchin'.....

nod In the early days of Soul Train,many artists and bands performed live.By the mid-70s,everyone was lip-syncing their performances.
