Which debut was better? "Who is Jill Scott" or "Baduizm"?

It's tough, but I pick "Who is Jill Scott"

Not a fan of Baduizm and I love Who Is Jill Scott so Scott gets my vote. Oddly enough, I am not a fan of Mary J Blige's debut either. Both (badu, blige) debut's are a bit too rough around the edges for my liking.

I told you all...
"Jill Scott is DA TRUTH!" wink

No seriously... I have both, and I was stuck on "On and On" for a while.
But Jill Scott gets my vote. nod

I'd rather listen to Erykah. I like Jill, I bought her debut but haven't bought any of her stuff since. I have almost all of Erykah's cd's, so I guess that answers the question for me.

I prefer just about any other Erykah album to Baduizm, and Jill Scott's debut is my favorite from her.

So...
Who Is Jill Scott.

Although 'Baduizm' was a showstopper, 'Who Is Jill Scott' was one of those albums that held no prisoners. Jill just let the cat out of the bag and she spoke the truth on so many levels. Now if Jill's debut was up against Mama's Gun which were both released the same year, we all know which one would win. But Jill has won this one.

I love Baduizm but Who is Jill Scott? is just a solid album. So much so, I don't think Jill's other releases have measured up. Meanwhile Baduizm was just a taste of what was to come from EB.

i find it hard to pick one over the other, they both have so
many good songs and strong lyrics.

still listening to these in the car regularly, i have them
burnt onto an mp3 cd together with maxwell's hang suite,
d'angelo's brown sugar and common's like water 4 chocolate.

when you put that thing on shuffle, you just don't want to
get out of the car anymore.

The only release of EB i like from beginning to end is
Worldwide Underground. Haven't had a chance to listen
to the new one yet. I think all of Jill Scott's cd's
are pretty solid. I like Beautifully Human best.

Both of them had songs on their debut albums that had ended up being on my "best of Neo-soul cd" but over the years I prefer Jill's music collection to Erykah's.
