So tragic!

Caresse Henry, Madonna's former manager from 1997-2005, has taken her own life, PerezHilton.com has confirmed.

Involved in both Ray of Light and Music, Henry was a creative force in Madonna's professional life working as her manager - and she was also once Madonna's personal assistant.

Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones.

On a personal note, we never had the opportunity to meet Caresse but we did speak with her on the phone last year about a business opportunity and she shared with us that she had been reading our site since we started blogging back in 2004. AND, Henry also reminded us of how hard times were for us back then, when - broke and with little income - we asked our kind readers for donations. She told us that she had given us money back then and we were humbled and touched by her instantly. That is the kind and generous person that she was, her friends tell us. They are all shocked and crushed.

So very sad.

Caresse Henry who managed the career of superstar Madonna from 1997 to 2004 has passed away and according to the Huffington Post committed suicide.

Jimmy Demers (who sang background for singers such as Cher and Paula Abdul) wrote a piece for the Huffington Post in which he describes how he was planning to spend Easter Sunday with his former manager Caresse Henry.

Then he describes how he received an e-mail on April 1st stating that Caresse Henry had taken her own life.

I'm not sure what details lead her to this dark moment of hopelessness, and I'm not sure there was anything anyone could have done to save her

No more details of her death are known at this time.

Caresse Henry was best known for being Madonna's manager and was by her side during her movies such as Evita and Madonna's Drowned World Tour in 2001. Her daughter also appeared alongside Lourdes as a flower girl in the famous MTV performance when Madonna kissed Britney Spears and Christina Auguilera.

When Henry left in 2004 is was reported:

“As I understand it, she’s not thrilled about the direction that Madonna’s interests have been taking her,” says a source. “Besides, 13 years is a long time and Madonna’s a demanding boss.”
