Old School R&B Song Of The Day(1/27/03)....William Bell-Tryin To Love Two One of those great cautionary R&B songs of all time. William Bell from Memphis had a few hits in the late 60's like "Don't Miss Your Water" and "Forgot To Be Your Lover". He went a few years without a hit. But this one was huge. Went straight to number #1 on the R&B charts in 1977.
Bell does a good job of depicting within this song, the trappings and consequences of having two women at the same time... "I need to be three men in one, to get the job done, I need a forty hour day, two jobs with double pay..I need a man to go to work, a man to stay at home, I need a man on the outside to keep my woman strong...Trying to love two sure AIN'T easy to do" I hear you loud and clear William. All you playas and cheaters out there you've been warned. Enjoy BRO915

What's funny is,this song was a huge hit at around the same time that Mary MacGregor was storming the pop charts with "Torn Between Two Lovers",which covered the same dilemna, but from a woman's point of view.
