Mostly just Amoeba and Rasputins. They are a block apart which makes them convenient, but I'm not sure they are worth the drive from SF, given the selection of stores in the city. Also, Jonsi of Sigur Ros is performing live at the SF Amoeba on Record Store Day. You should also check out Groove Merchant and Rooky Ricardos. Both are in the Lower Haight and both are small (compared to Amoeba) but have a good collection of vinyl soul/hip hop/R&B. Also in SF, the Rasputin Music on Powell has a decent vinyl selection on the third floor. 1-2-3-4 Go!! is in Oakland and specializes in indie/punk releases. Yeah, its pretty great. It is the original Amoeba. It was started by former employees of Rasputins. I think the SF store may carry more titles, and Hollywood is bigger still. [Edited 4/7/10 6:50am] a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

[Edited 4/7/10 6:25am] Oakland doesn't seem to have many record stores these days. There's one on Grand Lake but the name escapes me.... In SF, there's also Streetlight Records and a couple small stores that you have to search for. I actually went to a couple of music and video stores on Haight back in '06 when there was a Spare The Air day. "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. When it comes to prices, Amoeba has Rasputin beat on new releases but Rasputin gets them sometimes when it comes to used items While Amoeba has a great vinyl section, Rasputin' section has more and is better organized The video sections: Amoeba has a great section, but the music dvd sections are horrible organized and seperated. Rasputin's world music area is good, but Amoeba's section is even more diverse "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
