Houston is the only city in the South where I would say good hip-hop exists. In other areas, it's just a bunch of noise. ATL was alright for a good while with Outkast and Goodie Mob but then Lil' Jon had to come and mess that up. Won't get started on Mississippi or even the Carolinas, whose rappers don't get as far as the mixtape circuit. Houston does have a few blemishes though. (Mike Jones and Paul Wall anybody?)

I've resided in TX for many years and still can't understand the appeal of Z-ro. I imagine it has to do with how "real" he is, but for me, I'm not a big fan of H-town rap, every damn rapper out that town thinks there and R&B singer. Every damn song is "screwed up" so they can get high off lean with it. Every damn song talks about the same thing, which would be cool if i was somewhat entertaining. Only ting I enjoy about H-town raps is they make good strip club music. The best in the whole counry IMO.
