Who are your Top 10 Artists or Groups

Based on a browse through my music library, this is what I came up with:

1) DONNA SUMMER - For her voice alone. Anything else is just extra. This spot will never change. At least, it hasn't after over 30 years. And there has been lots of singers in that time frame.

Anyone mentioned below the top spot can vary, but this is how it is currently:

2) MARIAH CAREY
3) BARBRA STREISAND
4) WHITNEY HOUSTON
5) THE POINTER SISTERS
6) OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN
7) THE CARPENTERS
8) CARRIE UNDERWOOD
9) KELLY CLARKSON
10) SHIRLEY BASSEY

Okay. I've moved these names around too long. I take things too seriously. LOL.

Disposable is the nicest term I would use.

Legendary artists like them are so in your face all the time that it's almost a turn off to me. (This was definitely true of the Beatles in my 20s whom I resisted for the longest time and now I have all their albums. lol ) The only Stones album I have is Hot Rocks which is awesome of course, but getting further into a back catalog as huge as theirs is very intimidating. Although I'm pretty sure I'll invest in Beggars Banquet/Let It Bleed/Sticky Fingers before Ian starts is 60s and 70s polls.

Top 4 are all that's set in stone:

1. Prince
2. Madonna
3. Bowie
4. Beatles

(though I'm thinking Madonna might have slipped to #4 in the last few years).

beyond that, here's the rest of my all-time favorites, past and present (explaining the presence of one Paula Abdul), but any one of them could be #5 or #7 or #10 depending on if I'm listening to them a lot at any given moment:

Rolling Stones, James Brown, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, U2, George Michael, Bjork, Tori Amos, Johnny Cash, Tina Turner, Cher, Me'shell Ndegeocello, Rufus Wainwright, Mercury Rev, Paula Abdul
