Am I the only one, or... Is anyone else really underwhelmed with the electro-dance-pop thing that's been happening in popular music this last while?

Yup.
The idea of such music sounds pretty good on paper. Make dancey pop to appeal to the masses with just enough electro influence to justify playing it in a club, but not so much it spooks teenagers' parents. I find most of it really bland and unmemorable. I was happy with it when it started but now it's everywhere
