There was also "Men All Paused" and "I Miss You"--where the vocals sounded eerily like MJs.

Bernadette Cooper was the bomb! Don't forget her side-project, Madame X ("Just That Type of Girl") which had that Prince sound stamped all over it.

they had some tight Jams.Bernadette Cooper had a strong Prince Jones in Her Playing&Overall Vibe.Jam&Lewis did some stuff on them but these Sisters were Self-Contained.NuPwrSoul made a Great Statement about "I Miss You" Sounding Very MJ Influenced.somewhere between "Ben" Meets "Human nature" Inspired IMHO.Joyce Finderalla Irby was the Main force in the band as well&She also took a then unknown Dallas Austin under Her Wings too Write&Produce. back in late 88&89.

I love the line in "Meeting In the Ladies Room" when she says something like...

"I may have to become a B.W...a Basic Woman!"

Love Klymaxx...have their records...and Madame X!

Madame X - "Just that Type Of Girl" was a jam and a half...

It's production qualities were almost home-studio level, but because of it's simplicity... it was REALLY powerful.

was it produced by Craig T. Cooper? :I: don't quite remember...

speaking of Coopers, y'all remember "Quickness" by Michael Cooper?

Who remembers Colonel Pop? lol

Finally what about... David Peaston singing "Two wrongs Don't Make It Right"? A very tight jam indeed!

:I: still got tapes of when he did Amateur Night At The Apollo!!!

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

I love Klymaxxx my favorite jams from them are "Meeting In The Ladies Room", "Men All Pause", "Video Kid" and "I Miss You."

Their songs are STILL played on the radio and in the clubs to this day!

I loved "The Men All Puase" because it was so groundbreaking... "...slap me. no, somebody slap me! I had my Kenneth Cole shoes on and my Gianni Versace blue leather suit, my hair was done and my nails were fierce..."

They were the original female macks! Bump Lil Kim and Foxy Brown...Klymaxx was holding it down...so was Apollonia and Vanity 6 "Sex Shooter" and "Nasty Girl" STILL get played in the clubs I frequent and the radio shows I listen to!

The Madame X album(1987) is a classic. It's funky as hell and sounds like a Prince production.Like Vanity 6,the girls were not great singers and they use sex to sell the album, but there are still some great songs.Bernadette Cooper did an outstanding job producing this album.

"Just That Type Of Girl" is truly a unique-sounding track,a stripped down electro-funk number that didn't sound like anything else at the time. But the best track is the second single "I Want Your Body",a sexy, down and dirty funk track which features Bernadette making some hilarious ad libs.

Yeah, you could safely say she's the female Morris Day.

So where can I find her Madame X LP?? It looks like its out of print.

Yeah,,its a shame ppl don't find these ladies attractive 4 the simple fact that they're still(ppl) caught up in the "Tuff Chic" image.

There were plans for a second Madame X album in 1988,but it never materialized.Teena Marie was gonna write and produce a few songs for them (she was good friends with Bernadette Cooper). It would have been interesting!
