What I meant by black women being desired sexually by different races of men has to do with the sexualized images of black women in videos and movies which are shown all over the world. I have heard and seen arab, indian, hispanic men all trying to pick up on black women because they think they're "easy" and loose. I could give you tons of personal stories but it would take too much time. These men would never think of marrying a black women, though.

Here we go again. I don't understand why non-black people piss their pants when black folks talk about racial issues. Then they have the nerve to call black folks racist because these issues make them uncomfortable. Racism will always be a problem, so black folks are always going to talk about racial issues. Build a bridge and get over it.

I also don't understand why some of the other black folks are mad at her. Black folks need to stop ostrasizing other black folks that march to the beat of a different drummer. You may not agree with her opinion, but she does have a point. There are a whole lot of single black women out there. Many black women are single mothers and being a parent is extremely difficult. Some of you may not want to get married or have a long-term relationship, but other women do and they're having a hard time finding suitable mates. I know some people that are going through this right now. They don't have a problem with interracial relationships. They are frustrated because while black men don't have problems finding a mate, the same thing can't be said about black women.

Black men are being marginalized out of communities at a rate that's so furious in most metropolitan cities when black women reach middle age we out number black men by 37 %. Those number jump to almost half by the age of 60, 48%. Diseases, mass incarceration, gun violence, uneducated, chronic unemployment,and underemployed are the main reasons why black women can't find suitable mates. Those suitable mates are in jail, in the grave, dying of: gun violence, diabetes, high blood pressure, strokes, lung/prostrate cancer and AIDS), high school drop outs, drug addicts, and convicted felons. Until there's some type of concerted effort to address the causes that leads to the affect, Black women like Ms. Scott will still have an issues with interracial marriages and or relationships.


Of course this is a complex issue: I've address just one of the main issues. There are others: the lying and psychological gamesmanship be played out in black relationships. I've been waiting since the Black Power Movement for use to speak truth.. author Michele Wallace tried and was railraod out of the community on rail. the band plays on.
