I used to love watching "In Living Color" every week back when it first aired. Looking back years later and being much older now, I see a lot of it was just silly as hell. I still like some parts of it though.

My favorite show ever. I was a small child when it originally aired. My dad said I uses too always walk around screaming "Hated It."

I thought it was funny as hell back then because everyone knew a ghetto character like Wanda or flaming characters like those two queens doing "Men On Film". People that acted liked them weren't widespread but everyone knew someone like that so when they did it, it was funny at the time. The problem is, when the popularity caught on, a lot of people in real life started acting like those characters on a daily basis (which originally were jokes for comical purposes) and soon every time you turned around you saw people immitating these characters (which were meant to be jokes) and acting straight up ghetto on a daily basis.

We used to be drinking when we'd watch the show and those two queens would have us rolling on the floor with laughter when we'd see them. Somebody doing the writing for the show had to be doing something whistling because some of the terms they were using in those skits like "flaming", "family", "fish", etc., were only known in the gay community at the time. lol

Paul Mooney was a writer for the show ... and we've all heard rumors on Paul, just saying. And all four Wayans Bros play the roles very well.

Of course at that time, I didn't know what was goin' on, just a 6 year old kid laughing.

Yeah I've heard rumors about Paul too. I remember seeing Richard Pryor roasting him calling him Miss Thing.

I don't know much about Paul Mooney but I have seen him from time to time on TV. I've always got the impression that he was family. lol

I saw that on youtube and loved it. I think Tim Ried was on there too.

See, it was different back then. Paul was one type of person, Richard was another type, Tim was another type, LaWanda Page was doing her thing, Red Foxx was doing his. Everyone didn't act the same. These comedians nowadays, especially the ones that used to be on BET a few years ago, were all alike and just silly as hell. Nobody seems to have their own individual style anymore.

Corny and annoying, thats why.

I liked David Alan Green, T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh and Tommy Davidson the most, but I thought they got the raw deal because their last names ain't "Wayans".

All the Wayans or the younger Wayans? I know a lot of folks who can't stand Shawn and Marlon, but love Keenen and Damon?

I think Damon Wayans is one of the funniest individuals on the planet! Same with Tommy Davidson. I saw a clip of him hanging out with Bootsy Collins that was hilarious. He had Bootsy cracking up! Talking about how Bootsy's hat was made of Cookie Monster fur, lol.
