Avant, does anyone like him? To me, he's okay, there are few songs I like from him, but I always thought he was sort of a rip-off of R. Kelly, who's rip-off of Aaron Hall. J/K.

I never would consider him a "rip-off" at all. My issue with Avant is that he tends to have a "formula" that he has kept throughout his career. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I just get tired of hearing the same type of song from him. I think that's why his remake of "Sailing" did so well on radio. It was a different kind of song for him. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

He's seperated himself lately from being a clone but for real Don't Say No, Say Yes from the song to the video on down was straight R.Kelly. He even admits to Kelly being one of his influences. Avant can be hit or miss. I like Read Your Mind best from him. Don't laugh at my funk

I like Avant but he jacked R Kelly's whole style....
which is probably why it backfired on him after the whole pee thing.... But I love Separated (and the remix with Kelly Rowland), and Make Good Love is my jam!

I love Avant's voice but like Prettyman has said, he keeps on releasing the same old songs album after album. The man can sing, but he needs a new direction of material to make him stand out from the rest. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
